Wind Engineering
We have been conducting research and transferring knowledge to industry in the field of wind engineering since the late 1970s. More than 300 civil construction tests have been carried out in our wind tunnels.
Space technology
We carry out intensive research and development in aerospace technology and participate in international projects related to various space missions in the field of science. We have state-of-the-art facilities for simulating and testing components in the space environment.
Anemometer calibration
We have the leading anemometer calibration laboratory in Spain. As such we are accredited by ENAC, MEASNET and IECRE. We also carry out research and development in anemometry systems.
UPMSAT-2
At IDR-UPM, we developed the UPM-Sat satellite programme as a fundamentally educational project, but with a strong scientific and technological development component. We launched UPM-Sat 1 in 1995 and UPM-Sat 2 in 2021. We are currently working on UPM-Sat 3.
