A9 WIND TUNNEL

The A9 wind tunnel is located in the IDR/UPM facilities in building A of the E.T.S.I. Aeronautics and Space on the Moncloa campus of UPM. It has an aspirated flow, a closed test chamber and an open fluid circuit (Eiffel type). It has been in operation since 1998 and has performed more than 250 tests of various types and applications.

 

 

 Its main features are:

  • Test chamber:
    • Section 1.8 m high and 1.5 m wide.
    • Length 3 m.
  • Maximum speed 35 m/s.
  • Equipped with 9 fans
  • Total electrical power 70 kW

 

 

Our officies

The University Institute of Microgravity "Ignacio Da Riva" is part of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. We have one site at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería Aeronáutica y del Espacio, within the Moncloa campus, and another at the Montegacedo campus.

Location
