The 16th International Congress on Wind Engineering

The 16th International Congress on Wind Engineering (ICWE16), organized by the International Association of Wind Engineering (IAWE), was held in Florence from August 27 to 31.
In this congress the most cutting-edge works related to wind engineering have been presented on topics as diverse as the aerodynamic study of tall buildings, the aerodynamic behavior of bridges, aerodynamic studies of blunt bodies or instability phenomena on flat solar trackers, among others. In this congress, the researchers of the Instituto Universitario de Microgravedad "Ignacio Da Riva" (IDR/UPM), professors of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and members of the #Asociación #Nacional de #Ingeniería del #Viento (#ANIV), Mikel Ogueta Gutierrez, Juan A. Cárdenas-Rondón and Omar Gómez Ortega have presented their research work by means of a poster and two oral presentations.
In addition, the IAWE general assembly was held, where all the national associations discuss issues related to the future of the association. On behalf of the #ANIV, the #IDR researchers, professors of the #UPM and members of the #ANIV, Sebastián Franchini Longhi and Mikel Ogueta Gutierrez attended the meeting as president and secretary of the #ANIV, respectively. During this Assembly, the venue for the 17th International Congress of Wind Engineering (#ICWE17) was decided, which will be the city of Toronto, and the new president of the #IAWE, Claudio Borri, among other matters.
